1. Purpose and Scope
GeoPlanPartners (GPP) is committed to responsible, inclusive, and sustainable development.
This Exclusions Policy defines activities, sectors, and practices that GPP will not finance, support, implement, or be associated with, directly or indirectly.
This policy applies to:
All GPP projects and programmes
All partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and intermediaries
All funding sources, including donor-funded and privately financed activities
2. Legal, Ethical, and Governance Exclusions
GPP excludes any activity that:
Violates national or international law
Involves corruption, bribery, fraud, money laundering, or terrorist financing
Breaches internationally recognised human rights standards (including ILO Core Conventions)
Involves forced labour, child labour, or human trafficking
Enables discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, or political affiliation
3. Safeguarding and “Do No Harm”
GPP will not support activities that:
Expose children, youth, or vulnerable groups to abuse, exploitation, or unsafe conditions
Cause involuntary displacement or loss of land or livelihoods without due process and fair compensation
Exacerbate conflict, social tensions, or community harm
All projects are implemented under a Do No Harm and conflict-sensitive approach.
4. Environmental and Climate Exclusions
GPP excludes activities that:
Cause significant, irreversible environmental damage
Lead to deforestation, biodiversity loss, or degradation of protected ecosystems
Are inconsistent with climate-resilient and low-carbon development pathways
Involve illegal waste dumping or unsafe handling of hazardous materials
5. Sector-Specific Exclusions
GPP does not engage in or support projects related to:
Weapons, ammunition, military or surveillance equipment
Tobacco, narcotics, or illegal substances
Fossil fuel extraction (coal, oil, gas) or coal-fired power generation
Gambling or purely speculative financial activities
Unsustainable logging or extractive activities without adequate safeguards
6. Partner and Supply Chain Compliance
All partners, suppliers, and subcontractors are expected to comply with this Exclusions Policy.
Non-compliance may result in corrective actions, suspension, or termination of collaboration.
7. Transparency and Review
This policy is publicly available and reviewed periodically to ensure continued alignment with:
OECD-DAC principles
IATI transparency standards
Donor and regulatory requirements
International best practices on ESG and responsible business conduct
